*All presenting authors who wish to submit an abstract must be registered for ASN 2026 and pay the abstract submission fee. For the time being, please pay the submission fee when you submit your abstract. Once Registration opens in October, you will need to register for the meeting in order to keep your abstract submission from being withdrawn.
Once registered, you will receive a Registration Confirmation Email containing a link to the Abstract Submission Portal. If you are submitting the abstract on behalf of the presenting author, please enter the presenting author’s information in registration and the abstract submission.
The abstract submission deadline closes on December 5th, 2025 at 11:59 pm EST. Acceptance notification will be sent out in mid-January 2026.
You are asked to submit your abstract in one of the four themes below.
- Building the Nervous System
- Glial Mechanisms and Injury
- Metabolism, Cellular and Molecular Neurobiology
- Neurodegenerative Diseases
Submitted abstracts from early career stage scientists (graduate students and post doctoral fellows) will be considered for short oral presentations.
Accepted Late-Breaking Abstracts are not eligible for consideration for short oral presentation and will be presented in a poster format.
A submission fee of $60 USD (member) / $105 USD (non-member) applies per abstract.

Follow all instructions in the submission portal when entering, previewing, and submitting your abstract. Before beginning, please note:
- Abstract content should include:
- Specific objectives of the study
- Brief statement of methods (if applicable)
- Summary of the main results
- Conclusion with the primary message of the paper
(Statements like “data will be presented” or “results will be discussed” are not acceptable. No figures or tables are allowed.) - Acknowledgements
- Abbreviations:
- Spell out non-standard abbreviations the first time they appear, followed by the abbreviation in parentheses.
- Do not use abbreviations in the abstract title.
- Author and affiliation formatting is automated:
- Do not include this information in the main abstract text.
- Word limit:
- The abstract body (excluding title, authors, affiliations, and spaces) must not exceed 500 words.

- Abstracts are accepted in English only
- The maximum word limit for Abstract title is 20 (excluding spaces)
- The maximum word limit for Abstract text is 300 + 1 image or table (excluding spaces) or 350 with no images or tables (excluding spaces)
- 1 image or table is equal to 50 words
- Abstracts submitted via email or paper are not accepted
- There can be only 1 Presenting Author
- The maximum number of Co-authors is 10
- There is no limit to the number of abstracts submitted by an Author
- Required sections for Abstract submission: Introduction, Methods, Results, Conclusion
- Submitting an abstract does not register you for ISLB2023
- If your abstract is accepted as Oral Presentation or Poster you will be entitled to a discounted rate (rates to be disclosed in Mid May)

- Authors must agree to allow publication of accepted abstract(s) on the conference website.
- All authors must complete a conflict of interest during their abstract submission (no form necessary)
- If your research has been granted any commercial or institutional support, you will be asked to disclose this during the submission process
- Grants must be disclosed
The Executive Committee and Scientific Board will be reviewing each abstract and selecting Poster and Oral Presentations.
- Prizes are awarded to the highest scoring abstract
- No extra steps are necessary to apply to the Award
Frequently Asked Questions
Are case reports considered for abstracts?
No, we do not allow the submission of case reports.
Does ISLB accept abstracts that have been submitted and presented to a previous Conference (ie, encore abstracts, trials in progress encore abstracts)?
An abstract that has previously been presented at another meeting will only be considered if there have been significant updates to the presentation. Submitters are required to list any previous presentations in the introduction section of the abstract.
When will I receive the Notification Letter?
Notification Letters will be sent in early August
Where will my abstract be published?
Accepted abstracts will be published on The Journal of Liquid Biopsy.
