ASN 2027 Session Proposals
Guidelines for submitting a session proposal
All the delegates who wish to have a concurrent symposium or colloquium/workshop at our upcoming Meeting are welcome to make submissions. This is a valuable opportunity to showcase your research and engage in insightful discussions with experts in the field of Neurochemistry. With many opportunities available, we encouraged all eligible individuals to take advantage of this opportunity! The new deadline for the proposal submission is June 26, 2026
Meeting Format
All sessions will be scheduled for one of the following:
- Concurrent Symposium (2 hour session with 4 speakers)
- Concurrent Colloquium (1.5 hour session for 3-4 speakers) – offering varied perspectives and may include presentations, discussion or audience engagement
- Concurrent Workshop (1.5 hour session for 3-4 speakers) – focusing on skill-building, group discussion or practical application
Requirements
- ASN members and non-ASN members are invited to submit proposals. The Program Committee encourages proposals from Junior Investigators and recommends that Senior Investigators consider having a Junior Investigator as a co-organizer/co-chair.
- The session organizer/chair does not have to be an ASN member when submitting a proposal. However, once the proposal is accepted the non-member chair will need to become an ASN member.
- Session proposal for Symposium should include 4 speakers, and the session proposal for concurrent colloquium/workshop should include at least 3 speakers. (please email the additional speaker and presentation information to asn-program@icsevents.com if your session includes more than 4 speakers).
- Time allotted for each symposium session is 120 minutes. At the session organizer’s discretion, sessions may be organized as four 20 to 25-min talk slots followed by questions. Time allotted for each colloquium/workshop session is 90 minutes. At the session organizer’s discretion, sessions may be organized as four 15 to 20-min talk slots followed by questions. The final minutes could be used for an alternative format, such as a debate among the four speakers, an extended Q&A between the audience and all speakers, etc.
- The Program Planning Committee reserves the right to ask an organizer to modify their session to ensure balance and quality in the annual meeting program.
- A speaker can be a chair or co-chair in a different session, but he/she can only give one talk in one session. Please make sure the speakers you invite haven’t agreed to speak in another session.
- Speakers should understand that no honorarium is given for participation.
- ASN will waive up to one non-member speaker registration per session. The session chairs are encouraged to raise funds to support their speakers and use the funds for registration, travel, hotel stay, and session speaker dinner. All sponsors and funds must be approved by the ASN Planning committee.
- All proposed speakers must confirm their participation and register for the Symposium by October 2026. Failure to do so will result in the speaker being replaced by an alternative chosen by the ASN 2027 Program Planning Committee.

- Session proposals with confirmed speakers
- Clearly addressing one of the 4 main scientific themes of the society:
